Leslie Kneisel received her BFA from the University of Georgia in 1974 and her MFA from Georgia State University in 1987. She received the Individual Artist grant from the City of Atlanta Bureau of Culture Affairs in 1998 and 2001.and was the Artist-in-Residence for Artist in Residence International at Newcastle University, Newcastle-upon-Tyne, England. Kneisel’s work has been exhibited in Los Angeles, Nashville, Columbus, Albany, and Atlanta.  In 2004, Kneisel was chosen as one of six artists to be included in the MOCA GA exhibition, Transitions II, curated by Karen Comer Lowe. The artist lives and works in Atlanta. Kneisel’s work was recently added to the MOCA GA permanent collection.
