Katherine Mitchell b. October 1944 in Memphis, Tennessee

Katherine Mitchell is an Atlanta-based artist. She received a BFA from the Atlanta College of Art and a MFA from the Georgia State University. A retired professor from the Visual Arts Department at Emory University, she has been extensively exhibited in Atlanta, across the United States and abroad. Most recently, Mitchell was features in the Georgia Council for the Arts publication: Georgia Masterpieces: Selected Works from Georgia Museums. She one of three recent recipients of the 2010-2011 Working Artist Project award, from MOCA GA, funded by The Charles Loridans Foundation and the National Endowment for the Arts.
