Joe Massey b. 1941 in Macon, Georgia |

Joe Massey is a collector and fine art photographer. He has actively collected photography for decades and recently began donating works to museums from his expansive collection. Between the winter of 2004 and the spring of 2005, Massey donated close to fifty photographs by Georgia artists to the growing permanent collection of MOCA GA. In October of 2005, MOCA GA mounted the exhibition, As They See It: Georgia Photographers to honor the generosity of Massey, and fellow collector/photographer, Lucinda Bunnen. His intense interest in the visual arts has inspired him to join the boards of the National Black Arts Festival and the High Museum of Art. Massey also has work in the MOCA GA permanent collection. |
