Edward Ross b. August 1923 in Clinton, South Carolina; d. 1976 |

| Edward Ross was born in South Carolina in 1926, and passed away in 1976. He was a highly regarded Southeastern minimalist artist. He received degrees from the California College of Arts and Crafts and the Atlanta College of Art. After finishing with his own education, Ross was influential as the head of the painting department at the Atlanta College of Art for 10 years. His work has been shown all over the country, including the 1975 Whitney Biennial and the 1976 exhibition, Thirty Five Artists in the Southeast at the High Museum. In addition to that exhibition, he also enjoyed three additional solo shows at the High Museum of Art. Ross’ work is in numerous collections including the High Museum of Art, the Mead Corporation, Omni International, the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, John Wieland Homes & Neighborhoods, the Lannon Foundation, the Birmingham Museum of Art and the City of Atlanta. MOCA GA has several pieces of Ross’s work and has shown them in several collections exhibitions since 2002. |
