David Ivie

b. January 1962 in Atlanta, Georgia

David Ivie studies at the New York Studio School and received his BFA from Atlanta College of Art in 1985. He also received a Masters in Social Work from the University of Geogia in 1991. Ivie's solo exhibitions include the Elizabeth Harris Gallery in New York, Sandler Hudson Gallery in Atlanta, Bill Maynes Gallery in New York, the Arthur Roger Gallery in New Orleans, and others. Ivie was featured among the artists in MOCA GA's 2005 exhibition "Accelerating Sequence: Artists Observe Time and Aging," one of his many group exhibitions to date. Ivie has received several awards and grants including a Rockefeller Foundation Residency at the Bellagio Study Center in Italy and a Tanne' Foundation Award Grant, both in 2000. His work has been collected by the Metropolitan Museum of Art. Ivie currently lives in London.
